The renovations for the APD Range have been completed and the range is now open for business. Please call the range at (512) 974-6955 and schedule a time BEFORE going to the range. (They have cadet and in-service training that takes priority.)
As of right now if you are shooting a 9mm, .40, .45, or .38 the range can provide the ammo. Any other caliber will have to be provided by the retiree(s). This might change as APD transitions over to the M&P 40 caliber pistol. It is still not clear whether the Department will still purchase the other calibers.

At our September meeting Dr. Cook addressed the membership in regards to a possible claim you may have due to hearing loss. The years of sirens, gunfire and radios did take a toll on the hearing of many officers and you may have a claim.
Dr. Cook’s office indicated officers could come in for a free exam. For more information or an appointment contact Laurie Cook at (512) 260-2665.
Should the test indicate a hearing loss that could be job related, you will need to contact the City of Austin for claim information. Click HERE for more information on filing a claim.
Dues are now being collected. Dues are $35.00 per year and are a small price to pay to ensure that you have a voice at City Hall and the Texas Legislature to represent YOUR interests as a retired officer.
